Indocement and the Central Java Provincial Government have signed a Joint Agreement on the Provision and Utilization of Refuse-Derived Fuel (RDF) from the Magelang Regional Integrated Waste Treatment Site. The agreement was signed on February 27, 2024, in Semarang. The signatories were Christian Kartawijaya, the President Director of Indocement, Oey Marcos, the Director of Indocement, and Nana Sudjana, the Acting Governor of Central Java. Indocement has been working diligently to develop technology and increase capacity for the use of alternative fuels in the cement production process. This agreement will assist Indocement in meeting the demand for alternative fuels in its production process. It is projected that by 2025, the Magelang Regional TPST will be capable of delivering as much as 800 tons of RDF to the Grobogan Factory.

In an effort to help the government achieve its Net Zero Emission target, Indocement has been actively working on decarbonizing the cement and ready-mix concrete sector. This initiative underscores Indocement's commitment to implementing the principles and values of Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG). The collaboration between Indocement and the Central Java Provincial Government is anticipated to be a significant step towards creating a healthier and better environment. It is also expected to support programs related to waste management in Central Java.
