The Minister of Environment/Head of BPLH, Hanif Faison Nurofiq, conducted a visit to the Regional Waste Processing and Final Disposal Facility (TPPAS) Lulut Nambo, Bogor Regency, on Tuesday, August 20, 2025.
This facility has a crucial role in regional waste management, serving Bogor Regency, Bogor City, Depok City, and South Tangerang City. Collected waste is processed into refuse derived fuel (RDF)—an environmentally friendly alternative energy source that can replace coal in industrial use.
Following his visit to TPPAS Nambo, the Minister and his delegation continued their agenda with a visit to the Indocement I-Shelter. The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Indonesian Cement Association (ASI) Lilik Unggul Raharjo, along with Indocement’s Board of Directors—Christian Kartawijaya, Hasan Imer, Troy D. Soputro, Antonius Marcos, and Holger Morch— accompanied by Citeureup Plant General Manager Setia Wijaya and Procurement & AFAM General Manager Soegito C.K.
On this occasion, the Chairman of ASI provided a direct explanation regarding the readiness of cement plant facilities to utilize RDF as an alternative fuel in cement production. Indocement President Director, Christian Kartawijaya, also reaffirmed the company’s commitment to becoming an off taker of RDF from Nambo.
This visit served as an important reminder that collaboration between government, associations, and industry is the key to delivering real solutions for Indonesia. With RDF, we are not only addressing the waste problem but also taking a significant step forward in reducing CO2 emissions—toward a greener and more sustainable future.
