PT Semen Grobogan and Grobogan Regency Government Utilize RDF and SRF

PT Semen Grobogan (SGB), a subsidiary of Indocement, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Grobogan Regency Government on the utilization of Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) and Solid Recovered Fuel (SRF) produced from waste processing activities in Grobogan Regency. The partnership reflects a shared commitment to advancing sustainable waste management while promoting the use of environmentally friendly alternative fuels.

The MoU was signed by Budiono Hendranata, General Manager Operation of the Grobogan Plant Complex, and Setyo Hadi, Regent of Grobogan. The collaboration strengthens the partnership between industry and local government in developing sustainable waste management solutions in Central Java.

As part of Indocement, SGB actively supports Indonesia’s journey toward achieving net zero emissions through various decarbonization initiatives in the cement and ready-mix concrete sectors. The utilization of RDF and SRF as alternative fuels represent a tangible effort to reduce dependence on fossil fuels while advancing the implementation of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles.

The cooperation is expected to contribute to a cleaner and healthier environment while strengthening sustainable waste management programs across Grobogan Regency and the wider Central Java region.

The signing ceremony was attended by Indocement Director Oey Marcos, Indocement Procurement & E-AFAM General Manager Soegito C. Kurniawan, Grobogan Regional Secretary Anang Armunanto, as well as other heads of agencies and regional government officials.
