As part of the synergy between industry and military education institutions, the Army Engineers Education Center (Pusdikzi) of the Indonesian Army Engineer Center (Pusziad) conducted a comparative study in the form of an observation of blasting operations at Indocement’s mining area on 12 May 2026. The activity was attended by 40 students of the Officer Education Program (Dikpa), consisting of participants from the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (Jihandak) Dikpa and the Destruction Dikpa. The participants were accompanied by leaders and instructors from Pusdikzi Pusziad.
Held at I-Shelter, Citeureup Factory, the activity began with an opening session, followed by a safety pause and safety prayer as part of the implementation of the company’s safety culture, which remains a top priority.
The welcoming remarks from Indocement were delivered by Retnawan Widhiantoro, Deputy General Manager Operational Support of Citeureup Factory. In his remarks, he expressed appreciation for the visit and the trust given to Indocement as a site for practical field learning for the Dikpa participants. Meanwhile, Captain CZI Hendro, representing Lieutenant Colonel Benny Faizal, expressed his hope that the observation activity would provide practical insight as well as first-hand experience for the participants in understanding blasting processes in the mining industry.
The activity then continued in the Quarry Mining area with assistance from Indocement’s Mining team, SHE Officer, CHCD, and Safety & Security team. During the observation session, participants gained a comprehensive understanding of the blasting process, starting from the preparation of explosives, securing the blasting area, site preparation, to the execution of the blasting operation under strict occupational safety standards.
Following the field activity, the participants attended a presentation session covering the company profile, mining operational processes, and blasting mechanisms, delivered by Ozzy Julio Parisa. The session was interactive and featured discussions and a question-and-answer segment between the participants and the speaker.
Through this comparative study, Indocement hopes to continue contributing to the development of human resource competencies while strengthening collaboration between the industrial sector and educational institutions in fostering a professional, competent, and safety-oriented work culture.
