Following the successful implementation of electric motorcycles as operational vehicles at the Citeureup Factory, Indocement has taken another step forward in its decarbonization efforts by launching electric trucks as part of its internal transport fleet. The inaugural launch of these electric trucks took place on October 17, 2025.
This initiative is a result of collaboration between the Paper Bag Department and the Technical Service Division, introducing two electric truck units to support cement bag distribution within the factory area. The use of electric trucks aims to create a cleaner, more efficient, and sustainable internal logistics system, in line with the company’s commitment to environmentally friendly industrial practices.
According to internal calculations, each electric truck unit can reduce carbon emissions by up to 198 tons of CO2 annually. While this figure may seem modest, it represents a meaningful contribution by Indocement toward building a greener production and distribution system. The adoption of electric trucks reflects the company’s dedication to expanding the use of low-emission technologies in daily operations.
This move is part of Indocement’s long-term strategy to become an environmentally conscious cement producer by continuously adopting low-emission technologies and strengthening sustainable operational systems.
