PT Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa Tbk. (Indocement) has successfully secured its first simple patent for an invention titled “Modified Vertical Cement Finish Grinding Machine to Improve Energy Efficiency and Grinding Effectiveness.” The invention has been officially recorded under Simple Patent Certificate Number IDS000012068, issued by the Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DGIP) of the Ministry of Law of the Republic of Indonesia, with a protection period of 10 years. This achievement marks a significant milestone in Indocement’s efforts to strengthen the protection of intellectual property resulting from its internal research and innovation.
The simple patent was developed by Penamse Team (Plant 6–11), the second-place winner of the 2023 Green Innovation Competition organized by the Corporate SHE Division. In addition to cash rewards, competition winners received guidance in preparing innovative documents to support the submission of their invention for simple patent registration.
The submission process required substantial effort and time. The invention was filed with DGIP on March 28, 2024, and was officially registered on December 15, 2025. This journey reflects Indocement’s strong commitment to developing innovations that not only enhance operational efficiency but also deliver added value through legal protection.
In his remarks during the certificate handover, Setia Wijaya, General Manager of Citeureup Factory, stated that this accomplishment is “the sweet reward of the efforts and innovations carried out by Indocement, particularly by Plant 6–11.” He also expressed his hope that all Indocement employees will continue to innovate and use this achievement as motivation to produce future strategic breakthroughs.
