Indocement’s Tarjun Factory has officially received its first shipment of refuse derived fuel (RDF) from TPS 3R KSM Lestari Martapura, Banjar Regency, totaling 10 tons. The ceremonial truck dispatch took place on November 14, 2025, led by Hanifah Dwi Nirwana, Acting Deputy for Waste, Hazardous Waste, and B3 Management at the Ministry of Environment/BPLH, accompanied by Eva Ariani representing Indocement, Rahmat Prapto, Head of South Kalimantan Environmental Agency, and Gusti Rendi Firmansyah, Secretary of DPRKPLH Banjar Regency.
This initial RDF delivery marks a significant milestone in the collaboration between Indocement, Banjar Regency Government, South Kalimantan Provincial Government, and KLH/BPLH to promote sustainable and eco-friendly waste management. Indocement utilizes RDF as an alternative fuel to replace coal in cement production. This initiative aligns with the company’s commitment to reducing fossil fuel consumption and expanding circular economy practices within the cement industry. The RDF delivered consists of low-value plastic waste processed through shredding and drying to meet alternative fuel standards.
This cross-institutional collaboration is expected to serve as a model for integrated waste management and inspire other regions to develop similar programs. Through RDF utilization, Indocement remains committed to supporting government efforts to reduce waste generation, control greenhouse gas emissions, and implement greener industrial practices.
