Indocement’s Cirebon Factory, in collaboration with the Indonesian Adiwiyata Activists Association (HPAI) of Cirebon Regency, carried out a tree planting initiative involving 150 trees at the Mandeangin Conservation Area in Kepongpongan Village. This activity was held as part of the commemoration of the 2026 One Million Trees Movement and reflects Indocement’s strong commitment to environmental preservation and sustainable water resource management.
The planting activity included various water absorbing and water retaining tree species such as sonokeling, damar, aren, breadfruit, gayam, and tabebuya. These species were selected for their ecological benefits, particularly in strengthening conservation functions, improving land cover quality, and maintaining hydrological balance in the surrounding area.
The event was attended by representatives of Indocement’s management, Mr. Rudi Setiawan and Ms. Rita Widjaja, as well as employee volunteers. Also present were teachers and students from Adiwiyata Schools, environmental community groups, the UMC Student Executive Board (BEM UMC), youth organizations, Kampung Berseri Astra, the village head and officials of Kepongpongan Village, and subdistrict representatives from Talun. In total, 75 participants joined the activity.
Through the momentum of the One Million Trees Movement, Indocement encourages the public to actively participate in environmental action—such as planting trees in their respective neighborhoods—to help reduce the impacts of global warming, prevent soil erosion, maintain the water cycle, and reduce flood risks. Indocement remains committed to expanding impactful environmental collaborations in line with its vision of supporting nature conservation and sustainable development.
