Indocement Directors Strengthen OHS Culture through Visible Felt Leadership

Indocement continues to strengthen its Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) culture through the implementation of Visible Felt Leadership (VFL) by the Board of Directors. This commitment is demonstrated through direct visits to operational areas to review site conditions, ensure the proper implementation of safety standards, and foster open dialogue with employees.

The implementation of Visible Felt Leadership reflects a leadership approach that is present and actively engaged on the ground. Through this approach, management not only conducts inspections, but also directly observes workplace conditions, listens to feedback from frontline personnel, and provides the necessary direction for improvement in support of a safe, healthy, clean, and comfortable working environment.

On 3 June 2026, Indocement Director Troy D. Soputro, together with Distribution Network Division Manager Andi Poernomo, conducted a Sudden Site Inspection at the Sukabumi Cement Warehouse. The visit was also attended by Region 1 Terminal & Warehouse Department Head Lina, SHE Department Josian Andre, as well as the supervisors and provider of the Sukabumi Cement Warehouse.

During the visit, the inspection focused on the implementation of OHS practices in the warehouse area, including the assurance of safe work activities and conditions, the application of the Clean Site Safe Site program, the implementation of driving safety, and lifting and material-handling safety aspects, considering the forklift operations in the cement warehouse. The team also reviewed the availability of OHS signage and information, environmental management, area security, and the operational readiness of forklifts. In addition, fleet readiness was also a key point of attention, including the roadworthiness of transporter trucks and the physical condition of the drivers. The visit began with a review of the Visitor Site SHE Induction method for guests, the arrangement of cement in the warehouse, the cement loading area for trucks, the overall cleanliness of the warehouse, and the comfort of the drivers’ waiting area.

In addition to conducting physical inspections, the management team also held an interactive safety conversation with transporter drivers, forklift operators, and contractor workers on duty. This two-way dialogue is an important part of Visible Felt Leadership, as it enables management to understand the extent to which workers recognize hazards and risks in the work area, the measures taken to prevent fatigue, and the suggestions from frontline personnel for improving warehouse operations.

The same commitment was also demonstrated on 9 June 2026, when Indocement President Director Christian Kartawijaya, accompanied by CSHED Manager Arief Rahman Hakim, conducted a sudden inspection at Plant 7–8, Citeureup Factory. The President Director was welcomed by Plant 7–8 Act. Manager Johanes Januar Hadyanto and the Plant 7–8 management team.

During the visit, the President Director carried out a safety inspection in the Raw Mill, SP Fan, and AFR Plant 8 areas, and also conducted a safety conversation with several employees as a tangible form of Visible Felt Leadership.

The inspection at Plant 7–8 was conducted to support the creation of a safe, healthy, clean, and comfortable working environment, while ensuring that workplace safety standards are properly implemented so that plant operations can run optimally. In addition, the activity is expected to encourage the active participation of all employees in maintaining orderly, safe, and conducive work areas.

These two activities demonstrate that the implementation of Visible Felt Leadership at Indocement is not merely symbolic, but a concrete leadership approach that places safety as a shared priority. By being present directly in the field, conducting comprehensive inspections, and engaging in dialogue with employees, Indocement Directors continue to foster a work culture that is more aware, more responsive, and more accountable with regard to safety.

Through this spirit, Indocement hopes that all employees will continue to strengthen their commitment to maintaining OHS standards in every work activity. With the active involvement of all parties, a strong safety culture will continue to grow and support the achievement of zero harm throughout the company’s operational environment.

Pray Safe, Think Safe, Work Safe, Always Safe.
