PT Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa Tbk. (Indocement) has a long history in the Indonesian cement industry, starting in 1975 with the establishment of PT Distinct Indonesia Cement Enterprise (DICE) which has a factory in Citeureup, West Java. Along the way, several other cement companies were established and finally merged in 1985 to become PT Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa. This company officially became a public issuer on December 5, 1989 with the stock code INTP. Indocement continues to grow by building and acquiring new factories until it had 12 factories in 2000 in various regions such as Citeureup, Cirebon, and Tarjun. In 2001, HeidelbergCement Group (now Heidelberg Materials AG) became the majority shareholder, to support cement demand, Indocement took several actions such as the launch of the Portland Composite Cement (PCC) product in 2005, modification of Plant 6 and Plant 8 in 2007, addition of cement grinding capacity at the Cirebon Factory Complex in 2010, and operation of the new Plant 14 plant in 2016 which increased production capacity to 25.5 million tons per year.
The commitment to sustainability is realized through the launch of "Material to Build Our Future" in 2022, the signing of an asset lease with Bosowa Group and the acquisition of PT Semen Grobogan in 2023. In the same year, all Indocement shares previously owned by Birchwood Omnia Ltd. were officially transferred directly to Heidelberg Materials AG, without changing ownership control.
