Indocement emphasizes that distance is no barrier to ensuring compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standards across all its operational facilities. This commitment was demonstrated through direct visits by Indocement Director Troy D. Soputro to the Siawung Cement Terminal in Barru Regency, South Sulawesi, and the Bali Cement Terminal.
For Indocement, consistent OHS implementation is essential not only to protect employees and business partners but also to maintain the smooth operation of its cement terminals. A safe working environment, reliable facilities, and consistent compliance with standard operating procedures help minimize the risks of incidents and operational disruptions. These measures ensure that cement receiving, storage, packing, and distribution activities can operate safely and reliably.
The inspections also reflect the implementation of Visible Felt Leadership (VFL), a leadership approach demonstrated through management’s direct presence and involvement in operational areas. Through this approach, the Board of Directors can observe actual conditions in the field, engage directly with employees, and ensure that operational and safety standards are consistently implemented.
During the visit to the Siawung Cement Terminal on September 17, 2026, the Indocement Director was accompanied by Distribution Network Division Manager Andi Poernomo; Region 2 Terminal & Warehouse Department Head Sadikin Tanudjaja; Vice General Manager Maros Sulaiman Samudra; and Safety, Health, and Environment Distribution Network Division representative Josian Andre. The inspection was also attended by the Siawung Cement Terminal Operations Team.
The Siawung Cement Terminal has two cement silos, each with a capacity of 10,000 tons. The terminal is also equipped with three packers, a truck-loading facility, and five jetties, comprising three jetties for bagged cement and two jetties for bulk cement. These facilities play an important role in supporting the smooth distribution of cement, particularly to meet customer demand in South Sulawesi and the surrounding regions.
During the inspection, the delegation reviewed several key operational areas, including the circulation and traffic management system, workshop, hazardous and toxic materials and hazardous waste storage areas, packer area, cement bag warehouse, Motor Control Center Room, Central Control Room operator area, and the terminal’s jetty area.
A similar visit was also conducted at the Bali Cement Terminal. The terminal, which has been operating since May 2026, has two cement silos, each with a capacity of 150 tons, to serve customers requiring bulk cement. During the visit, the Indocement Director was accompanied by Distribution Network Division Manager Andi Poernomo; Region 1 Terminal & Warehouse Department Head Sadikin Tanudjaja; and SHE DND representative Josian Andre. The activity was also attended by the Bali Cement Terminal Team and PT Pionirbeton Industri (PBI) Plant Bali.
The inspection at the Bali Cement Terminal covered the condition and suitability of OHS facilities and infrastructure, compliance with standard operating procedures, the implementation of clean site safe site and lock out tag out try out (LOTOTO), the safe storage and use of work equipment, driving safety, and traffic management within the terminal area. The team also inspected the roadworthiness of transporter trucks and assessed the drivers’ physical readiness through the implementation of fit to work.
In addition to inspecting the facilities, the Indocement Director and management representatives held Safety Conversations with employees. These direct discussions provided an opportunity to identify potential hazards, listen to operational challenges, strengthen employees’ understanding of OHS, and recognize the improvements made by the terminal teams.
Several unsafe conditions identified during the inspections were documented as constructive improvement points that require immediate corrective action. These follow-up measures form an important part of hazard control, incident prevention, and Indocement’s efforts to ensure that all cement terminal facilities comply with the Company’s operational and OHS standards.
Through the visits to the Siawung and Bali Cement Terminals, Indocement’s Board of Directors emphasized that every operational facility, regardless of its location, must adhere to the same high standards of safety.
The direct presence of the Board of Directors in the field also strengthens Indocement’s commitment to building an interdependent safety culture. Under this culture, employees are not only responsible for their own safety but are also encouraged to protect their colleagues. OHS implementation therefore remains an integral part of Indocement’s efforts to maintain operational continuity and achieve zero harm across its operations.
