Raw Materials
Limestone and clay make up 90% of cement raw material requirements, which are quarried at our manufacturing sites. We own and operate mining facilities in Citeureup and Cirebon, both in West Java, and Tarjun, South Kalimantan. Indocement, directly and indirectly, has the Right to Use titles to the land on which the mines are located. The Right to Use titles for West Java are currently granted for 5 to 25 years and may be extended. The Right to Use titles expire between 2002 and 2025, whereas mining of raw materials for P-12 in Tarjun, Indocement has a lease agreement with the Department of Agriculture and Forestry for a period of 20 years.
Indocement owns quarrying rights on all of its mining locations. The mining reserves from the mining locations are estimated to last for over 50 years at full capacity rates of production.
Additionally, in 1999 we completed a massive modification of our mining facility at Citeureup site so it can maintain the quality of raw material consistently.
